Alix Earle Admits She’s ‘Gone Too Far’ When It Comes to Dating Older Men

Alix Earle has a new dating philosophy

While chatting with influencer Quenlin Blackwell on an episode of the Get Real with Me YouTube show, Earle and Blackwell discussed their recent experiences with dating men in different age ranges

“I went on a date with a guy who was a year older than me. I can’t do it again,” she laughed on the episode

Alix Earle is changing up her dating method.

While chatting with Quenlin Blackwell on an episode of the Get Real with Me YouTube show, the influencer, 25, opened up about her recent dating experiences.

After Blackwell recounted a story from an experience with an ex, she laughingly said, “As you age, you realize people aren’t supposed to act like that,” prompting Earle to ask if the ex had been older than her.

“I don’t date guys my age,” Blackwell laughed. Earle then said, “I went on a date with a guy who was a year older than me. I can’t do it again. That’s never happening.”

“Did you feel like you were mothering?” Blackwell asked her of what being with a partner of a similar age felt like, to which Earle replied, “It didn’t feel like I was with like a man. I want someone to take care of me.”

“Sometimes then I’ve gone too far the other end, and I’m like ‘Grandpa!'” Earle said of dating older men.

Earle’s comments come as the content creator has recently opened up about getting back into the dating scene, following her split from boyfriend Braxton Berrios, 30, in December. In April, the social media It-girl took to TikTok, recapping her first date experience, which, at that point, came just four months after she had split from Berrios.

Earle made sure her followers knew she wasn’t trying to “bash” the mystery man before launching into a summary of the date, which seemed to have gone down in a less-than-ideal fashion. Earle noted that the conversation seemed not to flow as easily as she would have liked. However, the cherry on top of the whole experience, Earle said, was when her date asked her if she did OnlyFans.

In December, PEOPLE confirmed that Earle and Berrios were going their separate ways after over two years together. She later shared in a tearful TikTok that they had made the decision to split because she couldn’t “be what Braxton needs” as Berrios juggled his demanding NFL schedule and she taped the 34th season of Dancing with the Stars.

She reunited with Berrios for the first time since their breakup at the Palm Tree Music Festival in Aspen, Colo., in February. Though she said the two spoke “briefly,” Earle acknowledged that it was “terrible” to accept that he had gone from being her “best friend to being a stranger in the corner of the room.”

Though reps for Earle and Brady never commented on the relationship, a source told PEOPLE in February that the duo was “hooking up.”

In April, Earle ran into Berrios at the Sports Illustrated x Authentic Brands Group party at The Surf Club Restaurant in Miami, where the TikTok star and the Houston Texans wide receiver were spotted having a cordial conversation.

In a recent video of the evening posted on TikTok, the former couple can be seen chatting amidst the crowd. In the clip, Earle sports a stunning, form-fitting red dress while Berrios wears a casual, collared white shirt. According to a release from the event, the two stars showed up separately to help kick off the festivities. The conversation marked the first time that the two have been seen publicly interacting since news of their split broke nearly six months ago, and had internet users going nuts.
