green ones right here that they’re still encased in their hole when they turn brown they’ll open up and actually drop the nut out of the hole like these right here well reason I know a good bit about pecans is I grew up in Mississippi and we spent a lot of our time Gathering up down pecans for pies that was a big staple down there you know yeah well still is to this day nuts have been used to flavor alcohol for centuries medieval monks made the first alcoholic lur secretly blending herbs nuts seeds and even tree

bark to make their potent concoctions Amaretto was born in Italy made from the bitter kernels of almonds apricots and peaches when broken down the bitter component in these kernels produces both toxic cyanide most of which is eliminated during distillation and benzal deide the organic compound that gives amoretto its nutty flavor on Saturday woo that hand up on it before we create an extract out of these pecans we decided we’re going to lay them out on cookie sheets smoke them and try to infuse that type of flavor into our

alcohol well by God we got a smoker full of pecans don’t we people love eating smoke pecans when you pass a little smoke through anything it’s delicious it adds another whole depth of flavor to whatever you’re preparing I’m actually using pecan wood pellets that are made from the limbs of the pecan trees which has that nutty Smoky flavor to them as well that’s already smelling good these damn thing going to be delicious man with that smoke rolling through them you know it damn that smells good don’t like a popcorn it does smell like popcorn want

to tell you what if we could catch that smoking puff in the jar that’d be the damn thing to do with how do we get the smoke into the Damn alcohol just pump it in there or blow it in there you think it’ll really damn work for us or all right get this have you ever Sat by a campfire all the time what does your clothes smell like the next morning fire smoke wood well the smells there I would say it might attract to the jar the glass the the liquor liquor the water that’s in the liquor you know it’s got to collect a little bit of it we can try

it we’ll rig up something pump it over in there while they’re smoking me and Jerry we’ve already got the alcohol run man we got a neutral grain Spirit here so we’d like to experiment to see if we can make a good tasting drink you want the lid yeah hand me the whole tote the whole tote the whole tote we’re going to try to trap this smoke and then induce it into the alcohol itself just cut a hole right here in  to damn Jerry you just ain’t another pretty face are you drop that over there snap her in look at

subtle Smoky taste to it it does someone put across across some popcorn and good liquor yeah I’m tell pretty much makes it taste like an aged alcohol that’s not colored it’s like you’ve poured your whiskey over into a a charred B take them nuts and squeeze that all out of them few drops that each jar man I think that’ll be about top shelf we got to start we we got something into alcohol right now you can actually take a shot of that right there and enjoy it I’m going to get drunk on smoke  liquor boy yeah luy luy here they’re

nice and caramelized Jerry we’ve got to do something creative here to try to get these oils out of these pecans going are weling together yeah Jerry come up with the idea to say let’s let’s press the oil out of them to extract all that oil and we can get the most amount as we possibly can going to do it I believe so Bubba you know I have a hydraulic press woo just had a homaker pressing gig and if we can just get some Earls out of them pecans we’ll be in high damn cotton W load up bad boy all right here we go come on

of it it will here we go tails off I say that’s about enough for our test ain’t it for him to shake ain’t no needing wasting something if it ain’t going to turn out pour a few drops in we got to be careful with this oil because we don’t want to mix too much and just overpower it it’s just it’s got to be there but yet it’s got to be a drink of liquor you want to take a good shot of and have that flavor on the back  note it taste like pecan it’s got the smoke flavor in it really damn good I like try it’s crazy ain’t it it’s in there

ain’t it what here in there like a hair and a biscuit I love it I think it’s great it’s even got that little bit of a charry taste to it as well I never thought we’d ever accomplish it right there it is but I’m I’m tickled to death with it I mean I like it I’m satisfied with it man you know what the dam main goal is here today me and Jerry’s pull this off we figured out how to put pecan flavor into alcohol and we nailed it down make sure we get all that oil off off the bottom there damn Dam you spilling our damn oil

today and find a place within the week we’re good to go I’m thinking we just use this trailer we’ll put the barrels on the trailer and just Mash in that way we get a place we just take off you know but we just can’t let it be damn obvious hey we got a bunch of mash BRS on the trailer y’all come see us we don’t want to give nobody no reason to pull us over we’ve got to build something to disguise this not only from just regular old nosy people in this world but from the law you can’t never be to down either yeah that’s right that’s why I’m

still standing here today and not having to pay off no damn debts because I learned a long damn time ago hi hey guys look at this a stack of boxes a bunch of boxes wrapped in damn cellophane exactly imagine like our Mash being in the middle of all those boxes wrap it back up WRA yeah just look like a pet of boxes sitting on the trailer that’ll work so the idea I come up with is we’re going to build a plywood box and then we’re going to take all these boxes and stack around that plywood box and then we’re going to rec cellophane it to

where you can’t see nothing from the outside let’s get it done let’s do it we are against eightball here but he’s got an idea so let’s go Jerry this is going to be the base to our whole Contraption here so the first step we have to do is build a sturdy platform because we’re going to have potentially 1,000 lb sitting on this thing one here we got to get a good strong sturdy base then we can actually start with the sides of our box man it’s awful lot of work just to hide some MK and run down the road hey what kind of damn bird can’t fly a jail

entire thing anytime you’re driving down the road you see a stack of boxes on the pallet they’re going to be shrink wrapped together that’s good Richard can you see me man where the hell y’all went peekaboo next thing we got to do just pour us about two five gallon buckets full of pomus in each barel woo it stuff smells good add the hot water melt some brown sugar and white sugar down boy mixing that white sugar and that brown sugar is going to give it that good carel flavor so we put the spices in there we got a little nutmeg

stand transporting down mash and stuff up and down the road we’ve got our steel stolen the cops has been hot on our Trail we’ve not made very much money this year everything has not really worked out in our favor this year so we need to be nervous about everything get this sowi much to the to the barn right now I tell you what son we turn off the black top to where the gravel meets Road it’s the home stretch now and if we can just get backed up and unload this trailer oh M could be just fine well guys we got her in here

we’re looking for it tastes awesome all our spices matter really well that ain’t nothing but good old clear apple pie right there fellas finally we’re going to put money in our pockets Guys these buckets are almost full we got our land oner taking care of to day good to go and money in our pockets today exactly we’ve got 10 gallons of alcohol sitting here right now it’s time to get out of here go give our barn owner his gallon worth and get on to trying to sell the rest of it put some money in our pocket
