Mickey Rourke recently took to social media to express regret about his past.
The former boxer and actor reposted on his Instagram account on Monday, June 1, another user’s post in praise of Wild Orchid, the 1989 romantic drama in which Rourke starred with Carré Otis.
While difficult to decipher, a caption from Rourke, 73, seemingly expressed that he was to blame for how their relationship played out. The two actors were married from June 1992 to December 1998.
“Wrong girlb not her fault all my mistake I was a fool fit so many yrs not her fault at all I just made a blind terrible mistake big regret not of it her fault all my blame,” the Oscar nominee wrote, adding a series of butterfly and praying hands emojis.

In 2011, Otis published Beauty, Disrupted: A Memoir, which alleged abuse she suffered during her modeling career and in her relationship with Rourke.
Calling her marriage an “abusive relationship” in a Huffington Post interview about the book published in October 2011, Otis said that she and Rourke “were both from really dysfunctional backgrounds and we both had the perfect ground to feed that dysfunction because we didn’t have tools and I was a kid! I was a young person and obviously greatly influenced by one of America’s greatest actors at that moment.”
In November 2011, Rourke told Piers Morgan on CNN that he had no intention of reading the memoir, adding, “From what I’ve heard about it, and what have, it’s probably kind of like a little bit of sour grapes, chasing the buck and a delusional, narcissistic self centered point of view.”
Following the news of a December 2025 complaint claiming that Rourke owes his landlord nearly $60,000 in past due rent on his Los Angeles home, a judgment issued in March showed the case was resolved in favor of the landlord. The landlord was granted possession of the residence, meaning the Sin City star no longer has a legal right to occupy it.
