MOST Unconventional Flavors | Moonshiners: Master Distiller

By god, that right there is amazing. It’s like a thousand micron filter for drinking water. It’s not meant for this right here, but it’s working d@mn fine for it. Taking all the out.  Damn.  You think you got your proof down where those flavors are going to pop out.  About to add these pickles to it cuz they’ll actually bring the proof down some more.

Soaking up some of that alcohol in there. Pickles a very important part of the Nashville hot chicken. They are a joy and a treat to eat.  You got five minutes, guys.  I believe I’m ready. Keep it simple.  That is simple. Looks nice.  I think I’ve made a spirit that is topnotch, different, unique. It’s definitely savory.

So, I’m ready to win this competition. Bring the trophy home.  You going back. Rest your heels. Soon as we get the other jar, we’re going to head out and taste. Thank you. Thank you.  My loaded baked potato sipping cream is something that they haven’t experienced before. I think I’m ready. It’s going to bring those smiles. Gentlemen, enjoy.

Good luck, my friend.  Thank you.  All right, guys. We’re going to go taste and then we shall return.  We probably be full when we get back.  Yeah. Might have to take a little nap. You know, savory liquor is supposedly the new rage. Gosh, there’s a lot that goes into making them ain’t it?  Yeah.  All right, Scott.

Loaded baked potato.  I’m pretty impressed with the final product. Tastes amazing.  He’s got a lot of confidence in himself and I like that.  You smell that?  Yeah, I did. It’s baked potato one each.  Yeah. And chives.  Yep.  I’m getting bacon. I’m getting a potato.  I pick up the butter, the the chives.

I can taste  I think it’s got some in it.  It’s pretty tasty. I guess actually the proper word for it, it’s savory, ain’t it?  It is.  It is savory.  So, let’s move on, boys.  Move on to We need the entree now.  Nashville hot chicken. But it don’t look like a chicken to me.  Well, if I can do a Nashville hot chicken pachuga, what else is possible? It’s going to be fun experimenting in the future with different things.

Pickles are extremely important in Nashville hot chicken.  But let’s see what it’s working with.  There’s a pickle that you can eat.  I’m not getting the spices like we did once. They’re not gone away completely, but  but they’re not as prominent. No,  it tastes like the chicken to me. I’m telling you, it’s pretty tasty.

Woo! We on top of that, it’s got alcohol.  It’s got alcohol.  Well, you know, he was headed in the right direction, but I think what we’re seeing here is just a little bit too much dill pickle. I mean, what he brought to the table first was it was great.  Yeah, guys, as one of these jars hits me really in the crease, all the savory flavor.

One of them, not so much.  I agree, Mom. All right, let’s go do this.  Let’s do it, guys. Let’s pull the band aid off. Now guys, we’re going to get right down to the point. Somebody goes out, somebody’s named Master Distiller, bragging rights and limited run of your savory spirit on a major distillery shelf.

Chad, what you went through with that chicken was just amazing. You brought the flavor, you brought the spices, you brought the chicken to the table, and you put the pickle in the process. It was a really, really unique drink. I’ve got to say that. But when you put the pickles in to kind of accent the spices and the chicken a little bit more, I believe it just didn’t bring out enough.

But all in all, definitely a fine job on your part.  Thank you, Chad. Excellent job in removing some of that alcohol. You did a great job at diluting it and also keeping it clear. I mean, that was that’s a pretty job.  Chad, when you told me you was going to make nice hot chicken, I thought you was a little bit off your rocker, but uh you did.

Scott, you told us you were going to bring a loaded baked potato in a jar, and that’s exactly what you did. That’s impressive, young man.  Scott, I asked you to bring me a loaded baked potato in a jar, and you did. If I was making it, I would put a little bit more alcohol in it. It really diluted the alcohol.  I even thought you was more off your rocker when you said the loaded baked potato.

If you asked me a couple of months ago, I didn’t think I’d be making something like this.  The flavor was there was off the chain. Good job to both of you. When it’s all said and done, you guys are going to be remembered as pioneers, but there can only be one master distiller. And Scott, you’re the next master distiller, my friend. Congratulations.

This is two of my favorite things here. Damn pancakes, syrup, and bl00dy merits. Maybe just take a drink of one of them and chase it with the other one.  Well, that’s what I was kind of thinking.  Well, you guys are going it. I can see where man want to eat breakfast three or four times a day.  Tempering down a little.

Yeah, very little.  It ain’t going to do much. I’ll tell you what though, in that amount right there, it don’t take them much. You can knock the proof down in a hurry. And  I can’t judge it by the bead now cuz all the sugar content in there. So, I got to go by flavor along. Luckily, I drink. So, I’ve got a pretty good idea.

What I made is as close to a breakfast drink as you could possibly get. It is literally blueberry pancakes in a jar. And if I don’t win, it’s definitely not cuz of the fact my liquor doesn’t taste good. It’s cuz the other guys liquor tastes a little bit better than mine.  15 minutes left. I’m letting this sit.

See what those flavors come out like. That’s the thing about a Bloody Mary. You wait a little longer, one flavor will come out a little more than the other.  Probably taste better even the next day.  Sometimes.  Yeah.  Looking over at Brian, seeing what he was doing, he was really coming along good with his run.

But I know I did everything I need to make a good Bloody Mary. So, I’m pretty confident  rise mode putting peppers and stuff in it probably will sway Tim a little bit because he h@tes anything spicy or hot.  Oh, no.  Here you guys go. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.  All right, Brian, will you chase on out?  All right. Thanks, guys.

It’s been awesome.  That’s it.  Proud of that one.  There you go. Bring it in here.  Once we reach a decision, we’re going to come get you guys.  All right. Appreciate you. Good morning, brother.  Get started out. Either one you want.  Well, this one’s closer to me and on ice.  Fine.  Just a light honey color.

I don’t know if we can do anything with the proof. No, we’ll just have to do it the best we can tasting it.  Not petite there, Hatty Boy.  Wow.  Oh, yeah.  It’s got a little slurpy slippy there.  A little what?  Little slurpie. I don’t know what that tastes like.  I get a little blueberry pancake.

It’s kind of smooth. It kind of rolls right off. It’s smooth. It’s buttery.  Believe that syrup’s what gave it that nice little buttery mouth feel.  I think you brought us breakfast drink.  Got a little bit of bite in the back of your throat when you swallowed it.  Now it’s got a little fire in it.

He’s got alcohol in it.  Mhm.  That’s a good h.unter proof there.  And he ain’t run away with the flavor on the maple syrup. I mean, you get it, but it don’t overpower the rest of the liquor.  Yeah. I try to make something that like does scream mean but isn’t necessarily something that’s already on the shelf.

Let’s move on to the bl00dy bl00dy.  No doubt we know who this is.  Well, that’s definitely not a good clear jar.  Came out what I was aiming for. Tastes like a good Bloody Mary. And it still has that earthy sweet pea.  Look pretty liquor to it.  Jar.  Oh boy. That’s Bloody Mary. Yeah, boy. And it’s a dandy.

I can see that being breakfast drink. It’s almost like a vegetable.  You get that pleasant sweet taste like you’ve eaten sweet peas, but the sweet pea is kind of clouded a little bit by the black pepper.  I like to wear, you know, all these spices he’s got in there.  They’re suspended, ain’t it?  This is a bl00dy merry to go.

It’s already pre made. You just buy it and chill it and blow it out.  This is marketability.  Yeah, I’m definitely happy and proud of what I did. Win, lose, or draw. I’m glad I made it here. Got to meet you guys.  Wouldn’t trade it for the world.  If y’all are good, I’m going to go fetch them.  We are 104.

I’m riding with you and Tim. Here we go.  Y’all got 30 minutes left.  Blending the sipping cream in. I knew that I had to be careful to not curdle this cream because anything with high acidity or high alcohol hits that cream, it’s going to curdle.  Normal sipping cream is around 4550 proof.

Uh, but I want to like give them a little p.unch. That’s it.  Finishing off my product. I had all spice instead of nutmeg. I feel comfortable taking a little bit of a risk. We’re just going to see what happens.  I’m very interested to see these flavors I’ve never seen on the market and how they’re going to come together.  They’re both going to be special.

Loaded Baked Potatoes Just Got A Casserole Refresh In Just A Few Extra Steps - AOL

I think  hummingbird cake and choosing the things that I did are a little risky, but I think the flavors are going to be really fun for them.  Hey, we’re friends, but ultimately somebody’s got to lose. It’s a competition. Let’s take them up.  Let’s do it.  So good.  That’s beautiful.  I can’t wait to taste these sipping creams.

What they made with all those baked goods, they’re going to be off the chain.  We’re going to drink this thing down.  I bet you you are. I bet you they’re going to be good enough we’ll want to drink them down.  All right. Well, let’s get started right here. Right close to me, Jason.  I’ve never made it with homemade orange juice.  I mean, that was the hardest.

I saw you work the entire time.  I’m still sweating from pudding them oranges out.  Orange glaze cinnamon roll.  Sipping creams, they’re bold in flavor. They’ll hit you right up front. Then the alcohol comes into play and then that buttery mouth feel.  So what we’re looking for is the flavors not to overpower one another.

I’m looking for the sweetness, the creaminess in the glaze and that bright acidic acid of the orange.  That’s cream.  It’s cinnamon. It’s orange. And I taste the alcohol as an afterback. It’s nice and warm.  The smell is very orange, but I don’t get orange. It it goes to cream. is because Jason using just the juice.

That pungent orange flavor  is essentially in the zest where all the oils are.  It’s good. I get a little cinnamon there toward the back end. That right there to sell all day long.  He spoke of his mother. She used to make the orange glaze cinnamon rolls.  So, he’s probably paying homage to her.  It’ll make me want to buy a couple bottles.

All right, here we go.  Katie’s hummingbird. My grandmother used to make hummingbird cakes and I’m very interested to see how all these flavors going to come together.  Yeah.  I knew that with the ingred1ents and the flavor components I was biting off a lot.  Yeah. All right.  It just it could have gone overboard.

I smell the banana and I smell the spice.  It tastes like cream. I don’t even taste the pineapple. I am picking up banana on the front. I smell it.  The recipes vary, but the base of the recipe, it’s a banana cake. However, a lot of things are getting lost in the sauce, and I feel like everything is just f1ghting to get to the top.

I get a lot of banana on the nose.  Yeah.  But it’s really, really faint pineapple.  I don’t know if it’s if it’s in there or not. The task at hand was to take a pastry and create a sipping cream from it.  Only one of those does that for you?  Only one.  Only one for me, too.  I’m riding on the same seat as Millie.

Well, Millie, are you ready to go name the next master distiller?  Absolutely.  Let’s do it.  Let’s do it.  Here we go.  The professor brought out something new. I had to bring up something old. Every magician has a trick. Every trick has got to reveal. I’ll be down. My granddaddy taught me this. He was using it back in 1947.

It’s just a simple trickle charger.  It’s just generating current.  Yes. Just some DC current, low amperage. You’d be surprised how much it will age some liquor overnight.  I tell you, this is Wow. This is ins@ne. Well guys, time to get busy. Got 30 minutes and it starts now. Good luck, guys.  Good luck, professor.

Good luck, Mr. Wizard.  I struggle with filtering and achieving clarity for a long time. And I knew that when I made my hazelnut fusion, it was going to be cloudy. spent nights trying to figure out a way that I could steep my hazelnuts and all my flavors and get all the flavor profile that I wanted, but somehow clean that up in a short period of time to get clarity that they could also be impressed by.

By God, that right there is amazing. It’s like a thousand micron filter for drinking water. It’s not meant for this right here, but it’s working d@mn fine for it. Taking all the out of it. Damn. I didn’t want to sacrifice flavor for clarity or clarity for flavor. And everyone told me I had to pick one or the other.

But when you say I can’t do something, I have to find a way to do it. So this was my solution.  Well, you have done it. Just like clear apple juice.  My grandfather made his first machine. I believe it was an old welding machine that he had converted. He would take liquor, you know, right out the condenser.

A week later, he’s got 20 year old bourbon. Look at that pretty jar of liquor sitting on Frank’s table. Boy,  Frank, if you’re done, you can turn your jar in.  I’d rather sit here and see what the professor’s doing. I’m with you. I’m sitting here in awe right now.  I mean, I see that she’s cleaning it up. It looks good.

It’s going through a filter, but she could be taking all the taste out.  You know, it had a good hazelnut taste.  It’s not easy pushing that through that filter, is it, Amanda?  No, it’s not. But nothing in life worth having comes easy.  No truer words have ever been spoken.  She fixed to get her some really dark sungla.sses.

That future’s bright over there. See you.  Good luck.  Same to you.  Well, guys, that was just awesome for us to witness.  We’re going to get to tasting. We’ll deliberate. We’ll come and pet you with a decision.  Thank you.  Thank you. Good luck.  Get with it. This one. That one first.  And it’s probably 105 proof.

Yeah. I can’t believe she cleared that jar up like that.  I can’t with something that simple.  I mean, this is from hiking gear,  stuff you buy in a camping store.  It was a struggle to get clarity and flavor. You know, how do you achieve both?  Damn.  It’s like hazelnut butter and it’s just melting all over it. There’s no fire.

There’s no burn anywhere.  The bite has been taken away. I can’t find a negative in that drink.  Color profile I think could uh be a little bit different  if it was the color of Frank’s.  Yeah.  I mean the color of it if you didn’t know what it was would speak immature age liquor.

But I’m telling you taste of it. It takes anything you might think bad away from it.  It does. Let’s try Frank’s. He did a whole new thing here too that I’ve never seen in my life. There’s two things took place here today, boys, that Mark Ramsey has never ever seen before.  Electrolysis. It made my job real simple because all I had to do was plug it up, let it do its magic, and then try to proof it out.

Still a magician to me. I think you make magic.  Well, thank you.  Wow.  Damn, man.  Never tasted nothing like that before.  That is good. Did you notice that Frank temper any with spring water?  He put a splash in there. I don’t know why. There was good proof. It’s an extremely extremely great taste, but it’s a little light on.

Very difficult situation that we have here.  This is something I’ll never forget. It’s a once in a lifetime thing, and I’m just honored to share it with you.  Agreed.
