Jessie J reveals she’s cancer-free 1 year after breast cancer diagnosis
One year after “Domino” singer Jessie J confirmed her breast cancer diagnosis, she provided fans with an update on her journey on May 21.
Singer Jessie J announced she is cancer‑free a year after being diagnosed with early‑stage breast cancer, sharing the update during her May 2026 annual MRI check‑up and reflecting on her treatment, positivity, and recent music releases.
Jessie J is officially cancer-free.
The 38-year-old “Domino” singer, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, shared the health announcement through an Instagram reel on Thursday, May 21, detailing the breast MRI she recently had done for her yearly check-up.
“I’m back for my yearly checkup. I’m actually s—ting myself, I’m not gonna lie. They told me there was no contrast but I think there is, based on this,” she said. “Gotta go in for my MRI. Pretend I’m not claustrophobic.”
The “Price Tag” hitmaker revealed that she was cancer-free in her video’s caption.
“I sobbed for hours and then exhaled for the first time in a year,” she wrote.
What kind of cancer did Jessie J have?

Jessie J was diagnosed with “early” breast cancer in June 2025 while promoting her album Don’t Tease Me With A Good Time. At the time, she told fans she had been “in and out of tests” and underwent surgery later that month.
“Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early,'” she told followers at the time, adding on her Instagram Story, “Honestly, I need to process it and talk about it and I need a hug. You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don’t want this to be any different.”
In July 2025, Jessie announced that she had received results indicating the cancer had not spread, though she said she still had “lots of healing to go” and needed to undergo another surgery.
How Jessie J stayed positive through cancer treatment

Jessie J’s cancer didn’t stop her from performing and speaking out about her experience. She addressed crowd members who dealt with cancer at the No Secrets Tour in New York City’s Irving Plaza on Jan. 28.
“Eat good, feel good, read good, be around good. A positive mind, honestly, it heals the body from the inside out. It helps, it doesn’t heal, it helps. It supports,” Jessie added. “And I’m sorry. Illness out of nowhere in any way, in any shape, any form, just sucks.”
The Grammy-nominated artist also leaned into her music, releasing the official music video for her November 2025 single “COMES IN WAVES” last month. In the single, she detailed her grief after experiencing a miscarriage in 2021.
And though Jessie J has battled multiple health challenges in the past, she has been adamant that “nothing has broken me.”
“I believe I’ve gone through all the things I have to help people,” she told Women’s Health in December. “Even if it’s just to write songs about it.”
